FAQ
Q. Do you have to cut the granite, or do you make custom sinks that fit into my existing sink hole?
A. We don’t make custom sinks to fit existing sink holes on your granite. Integrated TopZero Sinks require a precise cut-out. Without pulling the granite, we cut the sink hole slightly larger for the best fit TopZero of your choice available in our collection. We have designed various sinks with different sizes, configurations and shapes. 99% of the time, we have multiple options that will work for your kitchen sink retrofit project.
Q. Which countertop surfaces can TopZero sinks be installed into?
A. TopZero Sinks can be successfully installed on virtually any solid surface materials including granite, quartz, quartzite, marble, porcelain, wood and solid surfaces like Corian.
Q. What kind of caulk do you use to fill and seal the gap between the countertop and stainless-steel sink?
A. The gap between the countertop and the sink is filled with structural acrylic adhesives. As opposed to rubbery caulk or silicone, structural acrylic adhesives cure stone hard and are then sanded to a smooth to the touch integration which becomes a permanent bond between the countertop and the stainless-steel sink.
Q. If I choose to have you install my sink, how soon can you schedule installation?
A. We can usually install your sink within two weeks after placing an order, occasionally there may be an opening for the same week.
Q. Do you have to cut the main-water during the process?
A. No need to cut the main water. During installation, Change Your Sink Technician cuts the water to the sink from the valves in the sink base cabinet, he must detach the plumbing from the old sink and re-attached it to the TopZero Sink.
Q. What type of warranty do you offer?
A. TopZero stainless steel sinks come with limited life-time manufacturer’s warranty. Please visit www.topzero.com to view warranty instructions.
Q. How long is the process?
A. Typically, detaching plumbing, removing the old sink, installing the new TopZero sink and reconnecting the plumbing takes 5-6 hours. TopZero technicians arrive at your door about 9am and will most likely be done by 3pm.
Q. Can I use my sink right after the installation?
A. Yes. Once we are done, your sink is good to go. We not only install your new sink, but also turn on the water and check the plumbing so you can use your kitchen sink immediately after installation.
Q. Can I change my double bowl sink to a large single bowl?
A. Absolutely. Single bowl sinks are more popular today than ever. When changing a double bowl sink to a single bowl, we do the plumbing for a single drain hole. If there is a garbage disposal, it is re-connected to a single drain with no problem.
Q. I have a crack on the edge of my granite and the sink, can this replacement fix this problem?
A. Although we can cut-out and repair chips on the granite around the sink hole, cracks need to be carefully inspected before installing the new sink. If there is an existing visible crack around the sink hole, we will let you know if it is fixable before we attempt to replace the sink.
Q. Do I have to change my faucet?
A. You can keep the same faucet or buy a new one. We will install either one at no additional charge.
Q. Can I use my existing garbage disposal?
A. You can keep your existing garbage disposal if it is working properly. If you decide to replace it with a new one, we will install the new one also at no additional charge.
Q. If I would like to replace my double bowl sink with another double bowl, can we change the side of the garbage disposal?
A. Once the new TopZero sink is installed, we can attach the garbage disposal on either side.
Q. Can I change my cabinets after the installation?
A. Replacing cabinets without pulling the countertop is not possible. TopZero sinks are permanently attached to the countertop. Providing the countertop is removed and re-installed without any damage to the countertop and sink during the process, there is no reason you cannot change the cabinets.
Q. Can you replace an integrated TopZero sink in a granite or quartz countertop?
A. Integrated TopZero sinks are permanently installed to countertops of any kind. While they can be removed and replaced, the process is hard, requires an experienced professional, and is costly. Apart from the exceptional look and being the focal point in the kitchen, the advantage of having a built-in (integrated) TopZero sink is to eliminate the unsightly joint between the countertop and the sink, where bacteria and germs grow over time. Stainless steel surfaces are easy to clean and maintain, but the old undermount joint remained the only problem. Now that the undermount joint problem has been solved with proprietary integrated TopZero sinks, you will no longer need or want to ever replace your kitchen sink again. TopZero sink is made to outlast your countertop with proper cleaning and care.
